I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. I hold a BA in Human Development from SUNY Empire State College and I am currently completing my Master of Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. I work with a range of issues including anxiety, depression, anger, emotion dysregulation, and experiences of trauma. As a student therapist, I am passionate about helping my clients move towards greater meaning and connection with their values and life goals. By helping individuals become aware of any obstacles and maladaptive patterns that are keeping them stuck at this moment, I work with people to help them move towards the best version of themselves.

The primary psychotherapeutic approaches that I use are Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT). Both of these approaches offer intentional and helpful skills for overcoming barriers such as unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, which can interfere with your well-being, relationships, and daily living. I also utilize a psychodynamic framework to help clients gain awareness of potential unconscious patterns which may be at the root of depression or anxiety and are therefore getting in their way of daily functioning.

Regardless of the specific approach that I may use, I always place my clients first by recognizing that you are the expert in your life. I work to connect my expertise with your expertise to provide a comprehensive, client-centered, and evidence-based approach to our psychotherapy sessions. I believe that a large part of the work of psychotherapy lies within the therapeutic relationship, where a client can feel safe and supported in order to take the steps towards change and believe in themselves. Therefore, my primary goal in psychotherapy is to offer a non-judgmental and safe space, together with empathy, warmth, and compassion. I aim to provide a space where you can feel free to explore whatever is coming up for you while we look together at how to move toward a better future.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) and Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). I provide individual counselling for adults, teens, and children struggling with a range of concerns including anxiety, anger, depression, guilt, and rumination. I have a special interest in working with students with ADHD struggling with shame, self-blame, or negative self-talk.

When unmanaged, ADHD can make life and school incredibly difficult. Difficulties can easily contribute to guilt and frustration for students and those around them. In my work with students (whether high school or post-secondary, including mature and international), I value using a strengths-based and integrative approach to enhance self-perception, to develop resilience, and to make things, hopefully, a whole lot easier.

In my work as a Qualifying Registered Psychotherapist, I use evidence-based practices such as cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT). My therapeutic style is culturally responsive and rooted in a person-centred approach to be respectful to, and guided by, each individual’s unique strengths, personal values, and specific motivations for seeking therapy. Whether you are a student wanting help with managing ADHD (or a loved one searching for support for them), or you are looking for guidance for other concerns, I aim to provide a supportive and validating place to help you explore challenges and create practical solutions. I am passionate about this work and committed to helping you move things in a better direction. You are welcome to contact me with any questions. I offer a free consultation call and am happy to chat.

Life is hard enough. Therapy does not need to be overly stressful. For this reason I take a relaxed approach, infusing light humour while discussing some of your deepest thoughts and concerns. My aim is for your time with me to be one of the best parts of your week, because it is where you know you can be your authentic self with a warm and non-judgemental supporter. My approach is founded on living life with intention as the key to successfully overcoming mental health challenges and achieving the vision you have for your life. Therapy can work for anyone when there is a strong relationship between the client and therapist. For this reason I prioritize building a strong therapeutic partnership with my clients — that is grounded on transparency, empathy, and unconditional support.

I am a Registered Social Worker specializing in mental health – providing support to individuals, couples, families, and groups as well as nationwide crisis management support to major corporations. Before entering private practice, I served as the University of Calgary’s Mental Health Consultant where I was the primary on-campus therapeutic support for the university’s staff, faculty, and post-doctorates as well as the designated mental health subject matter expert for staff facing initiatives. While there I was the author and co-developer on a number of institution-wide protocols, processes, and programs. I was also the lead clinician for critical incident debriefs for individual staff, teams, and faculties/ departments following on-campus fatalities and various other critical incidents. I also have specialized training and experience providing both individual and group therapy to first responders and their families in dealing with operational stress injuries, and I am an Alberta Firefighters Association endorsed clinician in the treatment of first responder trauma and operational stress injuries. My breadth of experience includes work with the Government of Alberta, patients accessing community public health facilities, and primary and secondary school divisions — supporting school-aged youth.
